Sad Day, the Hinoki Cypress my dad gave me kicked the bucket. Thats okay though now I have another place to put a tricolor beech. That makes me happy now if only I can find one for under 50 dollars. I am anxious to put a little more into our back yard namely a three foot fence in front of the gaping cliff so macey can't fall off. I am also on the hunt for a columnar purple beech. Pots are doing well I am having moderate success with the fushias I have figured out the don't like wind.....so up here that is a little scarrrrry.
Sedum is doing great when I can remember to water it. YOu still cant tell that it is in there from far away I wish I would have done more iceplants....I think i will wait for them to root and them transplant little sections.
I am putting in some hens and chicks in there too. I am going to have to be on the look out for anything succulent to put in there I want it to be a modge podge of heights~! fun!
I also need some Japanese Yews maybe on the side yard which is turning into my favorite I also need a few more hostas and hellaboris, which I think I could divide out of the front of the other house.
I did get one brunnera macrophylla at 13 bucks a pot that was all I could afford.
Buying plants on my budget has been challenging! But you know me I love a challenge.

I know I am going to hate myself for all the missing details but....
We finally hit spring about 3 weeks ago, with no leaves on anything but beautiful weather, the daffs out front bloomed, but the hail last week took 1/2 of thier blooms off.
We chose Magnolias for out front by the front walk way, Mikes idea and I love them, I also found 2 yellow pots for out front and just planted them last weekend with pansies dusty miller and sedum.
Speaking of sedum I have a whole rock wall full of it! I love it mike took me to bonnivell and we bought 3 flats of sedum for the retaining wall in back it took me 3 DAYs to plant it but there is red, yellow pink and blue in there and a little bit of ice plant, i hope it takes off!!!
Altogether our yard is looking great mike has bought 3 yards of dump mulch this year. Love him, he also bought me 2 more pots for the back for mothers day,
Wants:
list is getting smaller....thanks to mike
2 boxwoods for chickens in new pots,
stain for benches in back
roses for back little wall
lilac for bottom layer,
forsythia and dogwoods
Varigatied brunnera macrophyla!!!! for by laurels
I also got thanksgiving point membership, love the gardens and picking on thing to implement each time I go
today, get some big bushes plantt them in mass and cut them down to the ground each year

snow again!!!!!
Seriously! Not again, just let me enjoy the spring in peace. Rain I'm okay with, but snow!!!
What is under the snow is kind of exciting. My daffodils are about 2 inches tall although I swear I planted more than that there are only about15 coming up.
Don't forget to plant crocus this fall.
Red Jade Crabapples at home depot...front flower bed?
all pansies in first state of bloom, finally.
bought some johnny jump ups just for fun.
Need lots more spring blooms in front and back
How about forsythia.

snow, snow, snow, it won't be long!
That is from the movie white christmas, one of my all time favs just wanted to remind myself that in the future when I forget where that is from.
Last weekend winter rallied and we got 6 inches, pretty good, but it has been so warm that it is all melted off by now. Still no real promising signs of green or blooms yet, not even the forsythias are blooming, not even the willows tops are yellow yet. That is the first sign of spring by the way: note to self. May let Jesssica Miller dig up my pussy willow to use in home show. Not sure if she would though.

Only Nerds Write Garden Journals
Spring is in the air...almost so I thought I'd better make my garden journal into a blog that way I will maybe use it more. I may also start collecting my garden articles. Sort of interteresting writing articles even though nobody reads them; now who knows.
Dec: Realized Lights strung on deer food helps keep them away. Peculiar-must do more research.
Jan: Didn't see most of my yard (Snow) Especially the vanderwolf pine and White pine the deer ate to nothing, and I mean nothing.
Feb: Warm, suprisingly, still no signs of life, note to self need more winter interest, that isn't deer food. Deer also ate Laurels...I thought I had out smarted them...hmmm
March 1 2010: 56 Degrees and sunny. Awww went and bought seeds, peas radishes and spinich cabbage and lettuce. one blue pansy blooming. Little sprig coming up from hellaboris. Note to self more early, and I mean early spring bloomers needed.
Still debating on if I should do matching crab apples in front entry beds. I think so. Also probably some kind of Purple Beech in front of garage...pendulum or columnar that is the question.
Weeping Pussy Willow starting to glow Yay!!!!
Wish List So Far
2 Crabapples variety unknown
1 Purple beech
1 flat creeping thyme for stairs (must see boys at butterfields)
8 english daisies for entry beds pony pack size, where to find...maybe ifa
Black berry bush
lilac
trellises
something to put by trampoline since cute grey junipers died
15' deeper backyard
Trex and Iron fence Adorable
More later... I am just getting started
